1943 M3 Grant-Lee Military Vehicle

Transport a 27,500kg tank (564 x 272 x 323cm)

Reason:

To transport and track a 1943 M3 Grant-Lee military vehicle from Cairns to the UK.

Challenge:

With a weight exceeding 27 tonnes and dimensions of 564 x 272 x 323cm (L x W x H), the tank required secure transport and end-to-end tracking due to its historic significance.

Project Overview

  • Mondiale VGL coordinated collection from the military museum in Cairns
  • Vehicle was self-driven onto a low loader via ramps
  • Road transport from Cairns to Brisbane; delivery met the port cut-off window
  • Loaded and lashed to a flat rack in Brisbane - a more cost-effective option than RoRo
  • High-quality load and lash performed at CFS
  • Secured space on a vessel that aligned with the project's shipping schedule

Project Result

  • Tank arrived in the UK safely and without damage
  • Showcased the depth and flexibility of Mondiale VGL Project Services
