NON OPERATING REEFER CONTAINERS AN IMPORTANT MONDIALE VGL OFFERING

Did you know that reefer containers can be used to carry non refrigerated cargo at a reduced ocean freight cost?

Known as non-operating reefers (NORs) – shipping lines generally reposition these containers empty into New Zealand to load and ship frozen and perishable goods across the world and Mondiale VGL are now able to access a regular supply of NORs from selected origin ports to load with Import cargo and pass on a reduced ocean freight cost.

We can obtain NORs from the following ports (as always are subject to equipment availability at each origin).

  • Shanghai
  • Shekou
  • Ningbo
  • Hong Kong
  • Keelung
  • Kaohsiung
  • Busan
  • Xiamen
  • Xingang
  • Qingdao
  • Dalian
  • Port Klang
  • Singapore
  • Ho Chi Minh

The below table is a guide to the capacity of an NOR vs standard container and while there is a loss of capacity vs a 40ft High Cube, the 40ft NOR capacity is similar to a standard 40ft container.

If you would like to explore this opportunity further, please get in touch with your Mondiale representative who can provide further information and indication of costings.
