Within the month of April we observe a number of national public holidays and short weeks. Many businesses cease their operations or offer reduced services on these dates.

Friday 15th April – Good Friday

Saturday 16th April – Holy Saturday

Sunday 17th April – Easter Sunday

Monday 18th April – Easter Monday

Monday 25th April – ANZAC Day

Airfreight: In an effort to avoid airfreight cargo arriving during public holidays, we encourage customers to forward plan any time-critical airfreight movements wherever possible. The associated warehouse facilities, ground handlers and truckers will be offering a reduced service (or no service) at this time and to reduce the risk and occurrence of storage charges and allow enough time for cargo check-in and collection, we recommend that the following is observed: For the Easter weekend closures, it is advised that flights arrive in the afternoon of Wednesday (13-Apr) at the latest. If cargo cannot arrive on or before Wednesday afternoon, we encourage that bookings be delayed and scheduled on flights arriving the following week.

For the ANZAC Day public holiday, it is desired that cargo is booked on flights arriving no later than Thursday (21-April). Where that is not possible, we recommend that bookings be delayed and scheduled on flights arriving the following week.

FCL Transport: The short weeks add further strain to an already pressured container transport sector and while Mondiale VGL will continue operating through the period, many of the stevedores and container parks that facilitate us will be closed or have reduced capacity. We kindly remind customers to provide as much notice as possible for empty container collections to help avoid or minimise container detention charges.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your local Mondiale VGL representative for any further information or clarification.
